The University of Salford wanted to create a two-minute long animation that gave a clear explanation of how the Business Management courses work at the University of Salford.
The audience for the animation was potential students who might be interested in studying business management at the University.
The way the courses work is difficult to explain, so the animation needed to convey this in a simple, accessible and on brand way.
We directed the animation to make sure we told the story in the best possible way. We wrote the script in plain English, whilst making sure it was engaging and explained the course well. As our client was working with a limited budget, we used a character from a previous animation we created for them to narrate the story and used iconography to illustrate the key messages.
We advised the client that as this animation was being used online it would need to meet certain accessibility requirements, including voiceover, captions, providing an SRT file and audio descriptions. As always, we made sure the creative was in line with visual accessibility standards, whilst also adhering to the University’s brand guidelines.
We provided three voice over and music options for the client to choose from.
We also wrote the audio description script for the client for approve.
The client is really pleased with the animation and feels it explains their courses in a very effective and engaging way.
At the quoting stage, we provided the client with one-to-one consultancy to determine the best content to include in the animation.
We used this time to gain a real understanding of the courses and the key message we needed to get across.
