The ICCPR report is an executive summary of issues highlighted and recommendations made by the EHRC, to the UN Human Rights Committee. It details the progress made in resolutions and implementations.
This document covers some hard-hitting human rights topics, includes important information, and is copy reliant.
Our challenge was to create a document within the EHRC guidelines, using iconography and imagery to bring the content to life, focusing on the positive outcomes the EHRC are working towards.
We reviewed the content provided to identify the key issues of each section. This meant we could source and create relevant and complementary imagery.
Whilst the work the EHRC does is positive, subject matters covered in the report are reflective of negative situations, so we were sure to focus on the action taken when creating and sourcing imagery.
We used diverse imagery and created accessible iconography, using these to help illustrate certain points and bring colour to the report. We pulled out important pieces of text to draw the eye to the crux of the messaging.
We made sure the document was fully accessible in look and feel, delivering a fully accessible PDF to WCAG 2 standards, in both English and Welsh.
